GlobalWIIN awards Irene Natividad, President of the Global Summit of Women, with the Honorary GlobalWIIN Special TRAILBLAZER Recognition Award 2024

Irene Natividad will accept the award at GlobalWIIN’s flagship conference and awards event in London in October

GlobalWIIN is very proud to award Irene Natividad, Chair of the GlobeWomen Research & Education Institute, as the recipient of our prestigious Honorary GlobalWIIN Special TRAILBLAZER Recognition Award 2024.
Irene who is the guest of honour at the GlobalWIIN Conference & Awards Ceremony 2nd – 3rd October has been supporting women in business around the world over the last 35 years. She will be honoured at the event in front of an audience of trailblazing women and men inventors and innovators, government agencies and academia. Irene has worked throughout her career to include women’s voices and issues in global forums such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), World Bank, UN agencies, the European Forum for New Ideas, Global Solutions Forum, among others.
Bola Olabisi who founded GlobalWIIN, says: “Irene’s encouragement for building women entrepreneurs has been invaluable to GlobalWIIN. This award is a testament to her outstanding contributions in empowering and developing women leaders across the globe. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to meet Irene in her office in Washington DC. I shared my plans to develop the GlobalWIIN platform for women inventors and I can never forget how supportive she was.
“She joined us at the European Commission in Belgium. Her insight into the empowerment of women leaders and entrepreneurs was evidence of her unwavering support for women’s organisations including GlobalWIIN.”
Irene Natividad says: “I am delighted to receive this award from GlobalWIIN, an organisation that has done so much to raise awareness of women’s innovation and encourage so many to take their products to market. GlobaWIIN has helped to change the landscape for women.”
Irene has an impressive track record of advocating for women. She has been part of the T-20 (think tank for the G20), the W-20 (women’s arm of the G20) and was appointed to the G7 Advisory Council on Gender Equality in 2019. Irene has a long history of involvement in politics as the first asian-american to lead a national political organisation in the U.S. when she led the National Women’s Political Caucus in the 1980s.
The GlobalWIIN Global Inventor and innovator of the Year Awards event is designed to help bridge the gender gap in science and technology as well as increase the success of innovations that truly matter. GlobalWIIN has gained the support and sponsorship of SHIFT London, and this has provided the opportunity to be hosted at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the heart of East London with access to invaluable capacity building opportunities for many of the ground-breaking innovations.
